Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the state, producing strong winds topping 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts verified that various areas across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, approximately one thousand residents in the southern state also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in 18 months.
Emergency response teams responded to 598 requests for assistance across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both areas.
Safety Concern
Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
